Lake State Federal Credit Union, through its Community Improvement Fund, recently awarded a $1,000 grant to the BSA Venture Crew 007 for the Roger Johnson Memorial Park outdoor shelter. The project was accomplished through the coordinated effort of community volunteers and groups and was the Eagle Scout project of Drew Short. Pictured are (l to r) Eagle Scout Drew Short, Bill Monson, Venture Scout Committee chairman, Jack Juve, LSFCU Community Improvement Fund committee member and Bob Hylland, manager of the North Branch Credit Union office. LSFCU has provided 37 grants to 20 different communities in the total amount of $40,000 this year. Grants are provided to organizations and groups for projects that preserve, promote and improve the quality of life within its membership area.
