Corey Richard Cook, the son of James and Shirley (Wood) Cook, died December 16, 2007 at his home in Elk River, Minnesota. He had lived there since 1994 and at the time of his death he was 43 years of age.

Corey grew up in Rush City, Minn., attended Rush City schools, and was a graduate of Rush City High School. He then enrolled at Pine Technical College where he earned a two-year degree in accounting.

While living in Rush City Corey was employed at Johnson Auto Repair, was a volunteer fireman for 10 years and served on the Rush City Council.

When Corey left Rush City he became employed by Rochford Supply Company in North Minneapolis where he worked for a period of 20 years, for most of that time as general manager.

Corey is survived by Tami, his wife of 13 years; his children: Dustin, Cyrenia, and Amanda, all of Elk River; sisters and brothers: Steve (Louise) Cook of Alexandria, Minn., Brad Cook of Rush City, Minn., Deb (Ron) Vogel of North Branch, Minn., Jann (Jerry) Radman of Coon Rapids, Minn., Val Swanson of Brooklyn Park, Minn., Pete (Wendy) Cook, Joe (Regina) Cook, Tim (Tammy) Cook and John Cook, all of Rush City, Minn., father-in-law: Larry Bastien of Brooklyn Park, mother-in-law Pam Walton of California, sisters-in-law: Jari Welle and Amy Peters; many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents James and Shirley Cook.

A funeral service will be celebrated at 7 p.m. Thursday, December 20, 2007 at the Olson Funeral Chapel in Rush City with the Reverend Laurie O'Shea officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service on Thursday evening from 4 until 8 p.m. Honorary casket bearers include Brad Cook, Steve Cook, Pete Cook, Tim Cook and Mark Rochford. Active casket bearers will be Joe Cook, John Cook, Kevin Dahl, Bob Carlson, Perry Scalzo, Steve Varing, and Greg Windsor with the interment in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery at Rush City.

Arrangements were entrusted to the Funeral and Cremation Service, Olson Chapel, Rush City, Minn.
