During the past few weeks, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students at North Branch Middle School have been involved in the Geography Bee, a contest sponsored by the National Geographic Society.

Preliminary rounds were held at the end of November, and the championship round took place Dec. 12.

After many rounds, Colin Ehrnriter (right) emerged as the NBMS champion for the second consecutive year.

He will complete a written test in early January that will be submitted to the NGS - if his score is in the top 100 in the state, he will advance to state competition in April.

Congratulations to all of the finalists, and good luck to Colin.
