Learn how you can conquer sleep problems
Posted: 12/19/07
Are you restless, weary and tired all of the time? Do you wake up frequently during the night? Do family members complain about your snoring? Do your legs get "restless" toward evening?
If you don't sleep well or find yourself falling asleep when you don't want to, the upcoming Jan. 2 Today's Health Topics program is meant for you.
At 2 p.m. on Wed., Jan. 2, at Fairview Lakes Medical Center in Wyoming, Jane Strub of the Fairview Lakes Sleep Center will provide information on sleep disorders and how sleep studies can help diagnose and treat conditions that can lead to serious health problems such as high blood pressure, irregular heartbeat, heart attack or stroke. The Fairview Lakes Sleep Center also tests for conditions such as narcolepsy and restless legs syndrome.
The free, one-hour program is part of the "Today's Health Topics" series offered by Fairview Lakes Health Services in collaboration with the Chisago Lakes, North Branch and Forest Lake community education departments. The public is welcome. Preregistration is not necessary. Refreshments will be served.
As an added benefit, representatives from the East Central Senior Resource Center in Mora will be available from 12:30-2 p.m. to meet with individuals and to answer their general or specific Medicare questions. For more information, congtacgt Carla Norelius, (651) 257-8806.
