Ruby's Pantry, will be hosting a special free, no donations accepted, food distribution in partnership with Second Harvest Heartland at their Distribution Center located at 39404 Grand Avenue in North Branch this Saturday, Dec 22. The doors open at 7:30 a.m. and distribution begins at 8 a.m. and ending approximately at 9:30 a.m. unless food runs out earlier. Participants are asked to bring two large boxes to carry groceries to their cars.

Again, no donations are accepted for this special distribution. It is intended to be a "Christmas Gift" to the community to help families free up some funds for family activities and purchasing Christmas gifts for their children. There are no qualifications to receive the food except only one per household and you cannot pick up for someone else unless they have special circumstances and are preregistered.

Approximately 40,000 pounds of food will be brought in for this distribution which equates to about $60,000.
