Easier on the eyes
Branch Librarian Sue Monroe demonstrates the North Branch Public Library's new low vision magnifier.
From bills to letters to books, readers simply place the document on the enlarger, and enlarge text until it is read-able.
Also newly available is a scanner-reader, which scans documents and then reads them back to the user, making it possible for the visually impaired to hear, rather than see, pages.
These machines are also placed at other libraries around the county.
