Lots of films at Leave ‘Em Laughing
Posted: 12/5/07
The next meeting of "Leave 'Em Laughing" will be Thurs., Dec. 6 at 7:00 p.m., at the North Branch Public Library. The two-hour film program will feature these wintry comedies:
"Big Business"...Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy try to sell Christmas trees door-to-door in sunny California. One of the last silent comedies Laurel and Hardy made.
"The Our Gang Follies Of 1938"...Spanky is staging a big show with Alfalfa as his star crooner, but he has higher aspirations—he wants to sing grand opera.
"The Frozen North"...Buster Keaton parodies the great silent western star William S. Hart in this rare comedy set in the snowbound Yukon.
"The Fixer Uppers"...Stan and Ollie are itinerant greeting card salesmen who are hired by a woman to make her husband jealous.
Plus, cartoons for the holiday season and more.
Admission is free to this family event.
