They waited 68 years for the honor. There are only nine left, but the Munchkins from the movie "The Wizard of Oz" have finally got their star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Representing the 124 little people who played the Munchkins in the play were seven of the remaining nine actors including Ruth Duccini who grew up in Rush City.
The ceremony took place Nov. 20. There next to Grauman's Chinese Theater is pink terrazzo star engraved with "The Munchkins."
Duccini told the Post Review last week she received a big plaque from the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, although they misspelled her name and have to do it over.
She also received another plaque and a book and presents from Warner Brothers.
Duccini was in Rush City last June for a special celebration at the high school where she met old classmates and new friends.
Today, Duccini, 89, lives in Arizona and still travels the country representing the Munchkins at events such as the Judy Garland Festival in Grand Rapids, Minn.

This should have happen long time ago. It comes to show how difficult it is for Persons with Disabilities to get acknowledge in the USA.
I congratulate Mrs. Ruth Duccini and the survives of the famous movie.
I have not see on the television either the announcement. It comes to show how difficult it is for all the People with Disabilities. The American Disability Act is not even enforce on the territory of the United States Puerto Rico.
