Tanger sold, name change coming
Tanger Outlet Center announced it has been purchased by a group of investors and will change its name to North Branch Outlets on Jan. 1, 2008.
The center, which will continue to operate as an outlet mall, was built by Greensboro, N.C. based Tanger Outlet Centers, Inc., in September of 1992 and opened with 21 tenants.
Phase II in 1992 brought nine additional brand name manufacturer outlets to North Branch. The center is located in North Branch on Interstate 35. Today, visitors to the center can buy direct from more than 30 brand name manufacturers and save 20 to 70 percent off retail pricing. This includes tenants such as Old Navy, GAP, Carter's, OshKosh b'Gosh, Dressbarn, Maurices, BASS, Van Heusen, Corningware, Kitchen Collection and the latest addition of Nike Factory Outlet.
In addition, consumers can visit neighboring outlets such as Furniture Outlets USA, Ashley Furniture, Slumberland Outlet, Karl's TV and Appliances & Electronics.
"We're excited about the change in ownership and the name change," said Sharon Gallagher, general manager of the center.
"And we're delighted that the new owners want to continue to provide the community with an affordable retail destination that offers something for everyone."
