Tacheny's nine goals in three games sets way for Dragons

The Rush City/Pine City boys hockey team had busy a week, playing four games in five days. After all was said and done, the Dragons came out with a loss to Amery and won the next three games, outscoring their opponents 22-5 over three games.
Travis Tacheny was a oneman scoring machine, scoring nine goals in three games.
On Feb. 6, it was a classic boarder battle against Amery on the road. Brad Peterson notched a goal in the first and Neal Schumacher added one in the second but it was enough as the Dragons lost by a score of 3-2.
The Dragons were out shot in the game 25-35.
Putting the loss behind them, the Dragons went on an offensive explosion the following three games, winning three in a row.
Versus Mora on Feb. 8, the Dragons blanked the Mustangs on their home ice 8-0.
The Dragons had a different lineup on the ice, due to the a season ending injury to defenseman Jess Pogones. Filling in the void was Cody Werner of Rush City.
The Dragons kept in stride and cruised past their conference foe.
Tacheny scored the hat trick for the Dragons.
On Feb. 9, the Dragons played Moose Lake Willow River on the road. (The game was postponed in December due to bad weather.)
Tacheny scored his second hat trick in two games, notching three more goals in the win. The Dragons outshot the Rebels 35-26.
In their final game of a long stretch, RCPC went north and played the Duluth Central Trojans.
RCPC gave up three goals, but their offensive came through, scoring six goals for the win.
The Dragons gave up three goals in the third period but held off the fierce attack by the Trojans to win their third straight. Tacheny added another hat trick in the win.
