Kirstin Marie Simons, age 12, went to be with God February 11, 2007 after her brave and courageous battle with cancer.

Born June 9, 1994 to Brian and Laura Simons in Fridley, Minnesota, Kirstin lived in Rush City and attended the AWANA program at the Rush City Baptist Church. Lately, Kirstin has been living in Mora with her father Brian and his fiancé' Ann Soderlund, who has been caring for Kirstin during her illness.

Kirstin enjoyed scrap booking, coloring posters and spending time with her beloved Aunt Lori.

A happy child who touched the hearts of all who knew her, Kirstin was preceded in death by her Grandmother Gloria Malecek and great grandparents Pearl and Woodrow Fuglsang.

She is survived by Father Brian Simons and Ann Soderlund of Mora, Mother Laura Eide of Isanti, older brother Casey Eide of Isanti, grandparents Douglas and Shirley Simons of Cushing, Wisc., and Dave and Jeanette Eide of McGregor, many aunts, uncles, friends and loved ones who will miss her greatly.

Funeral services were celebrated 2 p.m. Monday, February 19, 2007 at the Rush City Baptist Church with Pastor Dave Melin officiating. Music was provided by organist Kim Halbert and soloist Nancy Moulton.

A fund in memory of Kirstin has been set up at the Kanabec State Bank of Mora.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Funeral and Cremation Service of Rush City- Olson Chapel.
