A royal smooch
By MaryHelen Swanson
Forty-five years of marriage and they're more than just sweethearts, they're Valentine's royalty.
Mary and Howard Worley of Rush City were crowned at the Rush City Senior Dining Site on Valentine's Day. The couple, according to Howard, were married after knowing each other only two weeks. Both were in the Army.
They moved up from St. Paul two years ago, "to get out of the cities and clean up my lungs," according to Mary. Howard's take on becoming a king? "I knew I should have stayed home."
The Worleys live in the new Rush City senior housing building. Queen Mary is wearing a shiny, new tiara and King Howard is wearing a majestic hat handcrafted especially for this holiday occasion.
