TO THE EDITOR:

Nominations are now open for the 2007 Chisago County Provider of the Year. For a child care provider, this is one of the highest honors they can receive in their career. Being a previous child care Provider of the Year, the pleasant surprise that someone thought highly enough of me to nominate me was an honor alone. I'm sure if you ask any child care provider, they would probably tell you that they do not deserve to be nominated for such an honor. I know this is how I felt. If you have a special bond with your child care provider and you have trusted them enough to put your most precious treasure, your child, in their care, you must have seen something special within them to consider them for the job. There are a lot of child care providers out there that are committed and love the occupation they are in, and they should have every chance to be recognized. Please consider nominating your child care provider for the 2007 Chisago County Provider of the Year. If you are not affiliated with a child care provider yet know of someone who deserves this recognition, I encourage you to nominate them. Nomination forms are available at your local library, coffee shops, or ECFE. They will also be posted at your local grocery stores or you can contact Lanay Webb, Chisago County Provider of the Year Chairperson at (651) 277-0360 for further information.  Provider of the year nominations will be open Feb. 12 - March 2.
