Well-known RC native passes away
He was born, baptized, confirmed and married in the community, and in between 1914 and today, he served the Rush City area in many ways. Kenny Vaughn passed away peacefully Feb. 5, just short of his 93rd birthday.
Vaughn worked at Amber Mill, was a RC school bus driver, custodian and in the early 80s, mayor of RC. He and his wife, Evelyn, owned a coffee shop there for some time, too. Vaughn was a charter member of the RC Lions and served his neighbors in that organization until 2003. Before going to a nursing home in Pine City, Vaughn enjoyed visiting his friends at the Grant House and Truck Stop in Rock Creek.
