Marion L. Heemsbergen

Marion L. Heemsbergen passed away on Friday January 5, 2007 in his home, near Lometa, TX.

Marion had previously resided in Taylors Falls, Cambridge, and Albert Lea, MN. He was born in Dallas, Iowa on October 10, 1941 to Evert and Marie Meinndertsma Heemsbergen.

Marion had retired in 2004 from Chisago County, MN serving as the Environmental Services and Zoning Director. Prior to that he had served as the Building Inspector for the same county. Marion had also been active in building trades and carpentry in the Minneapolis/St. Paul areas and in Albert Lea, MN area. Marion was active in the Lometa, TX United Methodist Church Almelund, MN Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Memorial service for Marion will be held on Saturday January 13, 2007 at 11 a.m. at Lometa United Methodist Church. Reverend John Quigley will officiate. Marion's body will be cremated and his ashes will be scattered on Saturday January 13, 2007 at his ranch at 5:00 pm.

He will be greatly missed by his wife, Dorothy Person.

Jill Snippen and Craig Thomas of Braham, MN.

Step sons; Derek and Kirk Olson of Lometa, TX.

Grandchildren; Angela and Amy Bourke, Ryan Snippen and Kaia Olson, Eva, Reed, Ryan Olson, and Katie and Luke Neuman and six great- grandchildren.

Brothers, sisters and families; Bill and Terry Heemsbergen of Troy, TX, Melvin and Marlys Heemsbergen of Zimmerman, MN, Marvin and Patty Heemsbergen of Tucson, AZ, John and Annie Heemsbergen of Lordsburg, NM, Dena and Leroy Larson of Albert Lea, MN, and Gertrude Anderson of Albert Lea, MN.

Marion was preceded in death by his parents, brother Gerrit Heemsbergen, nephews Gary Heemsbergen and Jim Christenson, and great niece, Heather Heemsbergen.

Any memorials are asked to be forwarded to the Lometa, TX United Methodist church or the Waco, TX Children's Home.

Sneed Funeral Chapel in charge of arrangements

In celebration of Marion Heemsbergen's life, a remembrance of his friendship and contributions to Chisago County and our community will be acknowledged at a memorial service to be held on Saturday, Jan.20 at 1 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Almelund, Minn.
