31st annual cat show set for Jan. 27-28 in St. Paul

More than 200 cats from the United States and Canada will compete for the title of Best Cat at the Saintly City Cat Club's 31st Annual Championship and Household Pet Cat Show, Jan. 27-28.
The show will be at the RiverCentre of St. Paul in the Roy Wilkins Exhibition hall in downtown St. Paul. It is open to the public from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Saturday and 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. n Sunday.
Admission is $4 for adults, $3 for children under 10 and senior citizens.
There will be as many as 26 different breeds judged in four classes: kittens, Championship, Premiership and Household pet.
Competitors will include popular breeds such as Maine Coon and Persian as well as lesser known breeds such as Korat, Norwegian Forest Cat and Sphynx.
A king and queen will be caped and crowned from the Household pet division on Sunday afternoon.
The cat club is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the health and welfare of all felines and to the education of the public on felines.
A portion of the profits will be given to Winn Foundation, Cornell Feline Health Center, CFA Animal Relief Fund and area humane societies.
