It is with deep sadness that the staff of the Chisago County Department of Environmental Services/Zoning announce the passing of our much loved retired director Marion Heemsbergen on Friday, Jan. 5. Marion was employed by Chisago County for 26 years, and retired to Texas in 2004. Marion had been diagnosed with cancer several years ago, and also had lung disease. The funeral will be held in Lometa, Texas on Saturday, Jan. 13. Staff and friends are in the process of planning a memorial service to be held in Almelund in the near future. As soon as the details are final, a notice will be published. In the meantime, please keep Marion, his wife Dorothy, their children and grandchildren in your thoughts and prayers. We are trying to notify as many of Marion's friends and colleagues as possible, but please feel free to pass this message on to anyone you think would want to know.
