Reinhardt Keocher

Reinhardt E. Keocher, age 89, of Stacy died January 9, 2007 at Cambridge Health Care Center.

Reinhardt Earl Keocher was born May 2, 1917 at the family farm in North Branch Township to Paulus and Emma (Egelkraut) Keocher.  Reinhardt was raised and attended school in the Weber area.  On May 8, 1933 he was united in marriage to Ione Niederer at St. John Lutheran Church in Weber.  They later purchased his grandparents farm where they remained and farmed their entire lives.  Besides farming, Reinhardt loved to bowl and he was in bowling leagues as long as his health would allow.  He also enjoyed gardening, fishing and hunting.  Reinhardt was a life long member of St. John Lutheran Church.

He will be lovingly remembered by his two sons, Paul Keocher and his wife Kenne of Mora, and Joel Keocher and his wife Peggy of Stacy; one brother, Alvin Keocher of North Branch; four sisters, Irene Holmes of North Branch, Lucille Nelson and her husband Lloyd of North Branch, Loyda Calander of Harris, and Gloria Stamm of North Branch; three grandchildren, Elizabeth Pickett and her husband Rick, Christina Keocher, and Rebecca Keocher; five step-grandchildren, Faye Lilyerd and her husband Jerry, Ken Rooney and his wife Stacy, Sandy Hackenmueller and her husband Craig, Brad Rooney and his wife Kelley, and Brandon Rooney and his wife Janelle; 18 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. 

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Ione on March 2, 2002, by four brothers, Leonard, Theodore, Emanuel, and Rudolph; and by two sisters, Bertha Lindell and Minnie Koecher. 

Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 13, 2007 at St. John Lutheran Church in Weber with Rev. Kevin Zellers officiating.  Jon Ekstrom sang "How Great Thou Art" and "On Eagle's Wings".  The congregation sang "Amazing Grace" and "The Old Rugged Cross" with Sherry Lawson serving as organist.  Pallbearers were Robert Keocher, Gary Koecher, Wilbur Koecher, Keith Krantz, Larry Nelson and Mike Olson.  Interment was in St. John Lutheran Cemetery.  Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Strike Funeral Home - Cambridge Chapel.
