Forum on Internet crimes against children

Isanti County Sexual Assault Interagency Council (SAIC) presents, ‘WWW,' an educational evening for parents and community members on the dangers children face every time they access the Internet. Due to the content and to the fact that the presenter will use links to engage in live online chats and related Web sites, the presentation is only open to the adult public.

Speaker Rick Anderson is a 25-year veteran (retired) of the St. Paul Police Department. Anderson was the commander of the Minnesota Crimes Against Children Task Force (MICAC) based within the St. Paul Police Department. The ICAC task force is part of a national program that investigates crimes against children, in the state of Minnesota and the rest of the United States, involving the possession and distribution of child pornography and the exploitation of children via the Internet. He has an extensive background on the subject and serves on the Board of Directors of Adults Saving Kids (ASK). He also does speaking engagements for the Jacob Wetterling Foundation.

Join him as he actively takes you on a journey on the Internet. Attendees will experience actual sites that he will enter as he travels the information superhighway as a young teen. And he will give important information on how to protect and safeguard children and families.

WWW will be held Mon. Jan. 22, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., in the Isanti Middle School auditorium, at 201 Centennial Drive, Isanti.
