Turnovers plague RC

By Steve Morris

The Rush City girls basketball team has a demon, incarnated in the form of turnovers, they can't seem to shake. In two games last week, the girls committed a combined total 61 turnovers.

On Jan. 9, Rush City Tigers played one of their best games of the year, coming within six points of their first win in a loss to Isle 48-42. In the end, it was not taking care of the ball that was their downfall.

Senior Amber Hoffman led the team with 12 points. Her counterpart, Bethany Peters, collected 11 points, seven rebounds and five assists in the loss.

"Isle is always a tough gym to play at, but our girls played well," head coach Jeremy Albright said.

On Jan. 12, the girls hosted Aitkin and lost 59-26. Hoffman added 13 points for the Tigers.

"We had a hard time hanging onto the ball," Albright said.
