Hold on to your wallets

TO THE EDITOR:

The new Minnesota legislature is at work in St. Paul. Hold on to your wallets, they are looking for your money. Here are just a few snippets of the first 20 bills before the Senate.

"S.F. No. 1: A bill for an act relating to taxation; increasing state aids to education"

"S.F. No. 5: A bill for an act relating to transportation; authorizing county wheelage tax and providing for collection; -modifying vehicle registration tax provisions; creating transit fund and accounts; establishing phase in of motor vehicle sales tax revenues - authorizing local transportation sales tax; creating road user fee task force"

"S.F. No. 6: A bill for an act relating to natural and cultural resources; ? increasing the sales tax"

"S.F. No. 15: A bill for an act relating to human services; - increasing the tax"

"S.F. No. 16: A bill for an act relating to traffic regulations; - increasing the fine"

"S.F. No. 20: A bill for an act relating to natural resources; proposing an amendment to the Minnesota Constitution, article XI; increasing the sales tax"

For those who think we are taxed enough in Minnesota, it looks like it will only become worse with new legislators.
