The Rush City girls basketball dropped two games at the Pierz Holiday Tournament during break. It was the team's eighth straight loss.

On Dec. 27, the lady Tigers fell to Crosby-Ironton 59-20.

It was if someone greased the ball, as the Tigers were unable to take care of the basketball and had 28 turnovers for the game. They shot 17 percent from the floor.

Seniors Amber Hoffman and Bethany Peters each had six points in the loss.

"Our shooting percentage and our turnovers did us in again," head coach Jeremy Albright said.

The story line didn't change much as the girls fell to Long Prairie-Grey Eagle 59-22 on Dec. 28.

The game was nearly a mirror image of the previous game. The Tigers again had more than 25 turnovers and had a difficult time finding a rhythm offensively. They only scored six points in the second half.

Hoffman led the team with 10 points.

"We played well in the first half, but when you score six points in the second half, you are probably not going to come out on top," Albright said.
