The North Branch/St. Francis girls hockey team beat the Marshal Tigers 3-1 at the Schwan's Cup Tournament Dec. 27.

The girls were working a shutout, but the Tigers scored in the closing minutes of the game to end their shutout hopes.

The following day, the girls beat last years state champions from North Dakota 4-2.

For the championship game, the girls played Prior Lake and lost 0-2. They finished second in their division.
