TO THE EDITOR:

The talent show at the county fair on Thursday evening once again showed the outstanding talent we have within the confines of Chisago County. However, one of the loveliest vocals came before the show even started when half way through the recorded version of our national anthem, something went wrong and it suddenly became silent. In a few seconds the audience took up the refrain where it had stopped and they finished singing the Star Spangled Banner together.

Perhaps they were not the most talented singers in the world, but for sure they were the sweetest! Thanks, everyone, for your voices raised in praise of our freedom and our country. You made my day!
