Cora F. Humble was born on May 13, 1908 at Sunrise, Minn., to Charles and Myrtle (Fulton) Olson.

She was raised by her father and paternal Swedish grandfather. She completed the 8th grade at the country school. She married Clarence Humble on May 11, 1929. Cora was a homemaker and her life long interest was her gardening, roaming in the woods picking wild flowers. Cora always worried about the appearance of her yard and continued caring for it well into her 90s. She always braked for garage and rummage sale signs. The coffee pot was always on at her house for anyone who stopped by and she loved socializing with neighbors and friends. She continued driving her car until she was 90 years old. Cora really enjoyed teaching her great grandchildren how to bake bread.

Cora loved to travel and made several trips to California, the Black Hills of South Dakota, Las Vegas, a family trip to Alaska in 1979, and she flew to North Carolina when she was 93 for her grandson's wedding.

She is survived by her son, Clayton (Vonna Lou) of North Branch; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; daughters-in law: Arita Humble of Fridley and Janice Humble of North Branch. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence; sons, Weldon and Jerry.

Cora died on Wednesday, July 18 at Golden LivingCenter in Rush City at the age of 99 years, two months and five days.

Funeral services were held on Monday, July 23, 2007 at Trinity Lutheran Church in North Branch with Rev. Dan Brumm officiating. Music was provided by Michelle Trunk and Jon Ekstrom served as soloist. Casketbearers were Steve Humble, Brian Humble, Perry Humble, Mike Humble, Joe Jockety and Richard Underhill. Interment took place at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery of North Branch. Memorials are preferred to Trinity Lutheran Church of North Branch. Arrangements were under the direction of Grandstrand Funeral Home in North Branch.
