The Rush City celebration expanded this year from just the demolition derby and fireworks, to a breakfast, pig roast, kiddie parade, flea market, music and bingo.

At right: Trenton Miller, pulled a colorful wagon carrying 10-month-old Charlie Nihart as they led off a patriotic kiddie parade at Saturday's Independence Day celebration in Rush City. Parade winners were: age 0-5 - Charlie Nihart first place, Conner Ploetz second, Jillian Grache-Cicero third; age 5-7 - Sam Wegleitner first, Logan Belau second; age 8-12 - Trenton Miller first, Keanna Belau second.
