Stacy Chiropractic fills needed void in community

Stacy Chiropractic's Dr. Andrew Ulvin brings eight years of experience, and an emphasis on community, to Stacy. His office is located just to the southeast of the I-35 Stacy exit on Fenway Ave.

For Dr. Andrew Ulvin, opening Stacy Chiropractic was a homecoming of sorts. Ulvin is a native of the area, having grown up in the Linwood/Forest Lake area.

Ulvin has been a practicing chiropractor for about eight years, but practiced exclusively in Taylors Falls until recently. March 6 marked opening day at 30962 Fenway Ave. (Southeast corner of the I-35 exit) in Stacy, and things have been going well.

"The clinic is growing rather nicely," he said.

Ulvin is still splitting his time between Taylors Falls and Stacy, but hopes to hire a full time chiropractor to staff the Taylors Falls office and devote his own time exclusively to Stacy by August. He thinks that will be an advantage not only for the practice, but residents of Stacy and the surrounding area.

"Stacy is a growing area," he said. "But there were no chiropractors here." Contrarily, Taylors Falls, with a population around 1,000 has multiple practitioners. Ulvin also likes the location, right off the freeway, which allows easy access to patients from the surrounding area.

Speaking of patients, Stacy Chiropractic is geared strongly to their needs, and considers itself a family practice. For instance, clients can bring their kids in for a free adjustment as often as once a month.

Aside from the range of services one might expect from a chiropractic clinic, Stacy Chiropractic also offers services not all that common. Massage therapy, wellness care, physical therapy, and treatment of sports injuries are all available.

In addition to care, Ulvin takes pride in the fact that his clinic is an active member of the community, and he often trades services for donations that benefit local charities. In the month of June, for instance, new patients can receive all first-day services in exchange for a new stuffed animal. Existing patients will receive an adjustment in exchange for the donation.

Those stuffed animals will be donated to the Chisago County Sheriff's Office, who often give the cuddly critters to children in crisis, such as when they become the unwitting victims of domestic situations.

At Christmas time, Stacy Chiropractic will run a similar promotion with Santa Anonymous, as well as others throughout the year.

For those interested in Stacy Chiropractic, there may be no better time than the present. It is holding a grand opening celebration through the month of June, and new patients can receive an individual health history, private consultation with Dr. Ulvin, an examination, initial x-rays (if needed), and a report of findings, normally $200, for $29.
