Senior DJ Charley was named to the North Suburban Conference baseball team while Danny Ginal and Tony Dahlberg were named Honorable Mention.

The Vikings team was also academic all-conference.

The boys finished the NSC 2-12 and 5-16 overall.

The season ended with a loss to Duluth East in the first round of the playoffs.

"We had high goals to start the season of playing good baseball. Although we didn't achieve the team record we had wished, there were a lot of good games of baseball to watch. Many of the games we were in and just fell short," head coach Steve Christensen said. "We'll lose a good core of seniors that really worked hard to achieve. It's no doubt in my mind that these core group of graduates will be great people for the real world."

Summer Baseball

Two baseball teams are playing this summer. The American Legion Post No. 85 and VFW Post No. 6424 baseball teams have started their seasons.

"It's great to see such an interest in baseball in the summer. Amidst family vacations, and summer jobs, they're still out their improving their skills and getting great game experiences," Christensen said.
