Selma R. Ewing, age 80 of North Branch formerly of Minneapolis died on May 24, 2007 at Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina.

Selma was born April 11, 1927 in Lithuania to Herman and Bertha (Kairies) Plenius. She later moved to the United States where she met Lawrence Ewing and eventually married him on December 27, 1956 in Iowa. Selma worked as a housekeeper for 50 years for Mr. and Mrs. Julius Davis of Minneapolis. Her hobbies included sewing, cooking and gardening.

She is survived by her husband, Lawrence; daughter, Deanna Larson of North Branch; brother, Martin Plenius of Germany and three grandchildren, Samantha Fayard, Joanna Gestner and Michael Gestner. She was preceded in death by a sister, Ella and brother, Edwin.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, May 30, 2007 at 11 a.m. from Trinity Lutheran Church in North Branch. Visitation was one hour prior to service at the church. Interment Trinity Lutheran Cemetery at North Branch. Arrangements by Grandstrand Funeral Home, North Branch.
