Vaughan named GRC coach of year

Rush City track coach Mike Vaughan was named the Great River Conference Coach of the Year for the second time in his career.
Vaughan, in his sixth year as head coach, led the boy's team to conference championships the last two seasons. Vaughan remained humble about his award, passing all the credit to the kids.
"I have fast kids," he said. "They were just a really well-rounded group of kids."
This was the second time he was awarded the conference coach of the year. In 2004, he won it for the girl's team.
"He's been a great coach for the kids -- the kids really like him," track mother Paula Dahl said.
