That great big toothless grin comes from Nathan Ramberg who took home a $5 check as his duck was among the first dozen to arrive at the finish line, at the May 19 Lucky Duck event in Rush City. He appeared to have big plans for his prize. Each year the event, sponsored by the Rush City Family Center as a fund-raiser for programs at the center, gets bigger and this year there were 209 ducks heading for the finish line after being dumped overboard at street level by the bridge on Forest Boulevard. Twenty prizes in all were awarded. The funds raised this year will help the Center provide interesting programing for preschool children and their families.
