Grand National Callmaking judges graded hundreds of game calls on appearance and sound quality before crowning the champions during the National Wild Turkey Federation's 31st annual Convention and Sport Show in Nashville, Tenn., Feb. 22 to Feb. 25.

After a panel of callmaking, calling and hunting experts judged the entries, Daniel Walton of Stanchfield, Minn., earned third in the Carved Waterfowl Head Call division of the NWTF's Grand National Decorative Duck & Goose.

Some of the world's best callmakers showcased their work during the convention in front of thousands of sportsmen and women who understand how a call is supposed to look and sound.

Contestants competed in Decorative Turkey Call, Hunting Turkey Call, Decorative Duck and Goose Call and Hunting Duck and Goose Call categories. After the contest, the calls are auctioned at the convention, raising thousands of dollars for conservation.
