Harland Huenecke
Harland H. Huenecke of Harris died Thursday March 15 at Green Acres Country Care Center at the age of 87.
Harland was born June 14, 1919 in Lake Benton, Minn., to Carl and Lily Huenecke. Harland married Vivian Forsberg on May 30, 1942 in Cambridge Lutheran Church. He worked as a farmer and contractor most of his life. After high school he served with the CCC program, served on the Sunrise Town Board, Charter Member of Chisago County C.O.R.E. Program, 4-H leader, active member of First Lutheran Church of Harris, and volunteered at Green Acres. He enjoyed golfing especially with the North Branch League for over 30 years with the same team and also enjoyed playing horse shoes, baling hay, and playing cards. Harland was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great grandfather, friend and will be dearly missed by all. He was preceded in death by wife Vivian; parents Carl and Lily; son-in-law Verlyn Mohr.
Survived by daughter Anita Mohr; sons David (Cindy) and Lee (Brenda) Huenecke; grandchildren Carmen Anderson, Brian (Monica) Mohr, Rene (James) Nowicki, Sean (Cathy) Huenecke, Todd (Carrie) Huenecke, Molly (Joseph) Roenna, Jason Aeric (Mathew Williams) Huenecke, Heather (Michael) Mench; great-grandchildren Tyler, Brandon (Brittany), and Alexander Anderson, Andrew, Garrett, and Shelby Mohr, Erik, Luke, and Annaliese Huenecke, Nicholas, Madison, and Joseph Mench and Sofia and Dylan Roenna; great-great-grandchild Gavin Anderson; sister Shirley Heath; brother Howard (Eunice) Huenecke; brother-in-law Vernon (Leona) Forsberg and many nieces and nephews. There was a memorial service at 2 p.m. Sunday March 18 at First Lutheran Church of Harris. Burial was at Oakgrove Cemetery in Harris.
