Vote in township elections

TO THE EDITOR:

Next Tuesday at annual township meetings across the state you have the opportunity to have your voice be heard. In many townships you have a chance to vote on your elected officials. Many times persons are elected by less than 50 votes. These are the officials who govern you at the grass roots level. I am writing this to caution you about last minute fliers or letters you may receive informing you as to how to vote. Many times these have inaccurate information encouraging you to vote for a particular person. Read the minutes, ask your neighbors, attend a meeting, but most importantly -- be an informed voter. Check to see if the person you vote for represented your positions in the past and will continue to do so in the future. The choice is yours.
