Learn about church records and archives

Want to learn more about church records and archives? Want to find out how to organize and store church council minutes and congregation records? Want to learn what information the records can provide for genealogical research? Here's your chance.

Come to a seminar on Thursday, May 10 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Almelund. Paul Daniels, archivist/curator for region 3 of the ELCA and Luther Seminary in St. Paul will be on hand to share his expertise. Bob Porter and members of the historical committee from Chisago Lakes Lutheran Church will talk about their process of organizing and making records available for the public. The archive committee from Immanuel Lutheran will provide coffee and treats after the meeting.

The seminar will start promptly at 1 p.m. and last about two hours. Immanuel Lutheran is located in downtown Almelund at 37515 Park Trail. Church staff and council members are encouraged to attend.
