Lillian V. Benolken, age 82 died on Tuesday, November 6
at The Villages of North Branch with her family at her side.

Lillian was born on May 4, 1924 to Martin and Tilda (Tronnes) Rude at Shelly, Minnesota. She grew up in this Red River Valley community and attended school there. After school she moved to Minneapolis where she met her, Warren Benolken and they were married in the Fall of 1954.

Through the years she enjoyed caring and cooking for her family. Some of her favorites were potato dumplings, apple crisp, lefsa and banana bread. You could always count on getting bananas from Grandma. She loved playing Bingo with her friends at The Villages of North Branch and taking the yearly fishing trip on the pontoon where you always heard about the "one" that got away. She was also an avid "Wheel of Fortune" fan.

Lillian is survived by her daughter, Nancy Ziesmer of Coon Rapids; sons, Michael (Zenaida) of North Branch; Mark of North Branch; Kevin (Billie Jo) of North Branch and Terry of Little Falls; grandsons, Keith (Geri); Gregory and Matthew; granddaughters, Kalley and Courtney; great grandson, Keith Benolken, Jr. The grandchildren were the love of her life and she loved each and every one of them.

She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved her and all her friends and her extended family from Green Acres and The Villages of North Branch. The immediate family, without many spoken words, deeply appreciates all the love and care given to Mom over the years. Many, many thanks to all of you and to the Hospice Team, we love all of you and will never forget what you did for our Mom.

Memorial service was at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, November 11 in the Chapel at The Villages of North Branch with Michelle Larson officiating. Music was provided by Phyllis Soderlund. Private family interment will take place later.
Arrangement are under the direction of Grandstrand Funeral Home in North Branch.
