NB girls soccer players honored at banquet
The North Branch girls soccer team ended its season with a banquet at the Sunrise River School cafeteria.
More than 160 players, parents, relatives and friends were entertained with dinner, team flashbacks and awards.
All three team coaches, Dave Alm, Katie Saarela, Peter Grand, presented highlights of their seasons.
"Sportive highlight for the varsity team was definitely their first round section 2 win against the No. 4 Grand Rapids," head coach Peter Grand said.
Grand also said the team this year improved from a 21- 77 goal difference in 2006 to a 26-58 goal difference.
