Barn raising in Almelund
Workers muscle a cross section onto a 19th century barn Wednesday afternoon in Almelund. The barn was donated by Dave and Mary Hanson and the structure is believed to be over 100 years old.
It was taken down piece by piece on the Hanson property. Each piece was labeled and painstakingly put back together exactly the same way behind the museum in downtown Almelund.
According to Amador Township Chairman Bob Vande Kamp, the 30-foot by 30-foot structure will get a foundation and grout to seal the cracks next summer.
The barn joins a handful of other historic structures that have been reconstructed on the property.
