TO THE EDITOR:

Rep. Jeremy Kalin continues to mislead the public regarding the I-35W bridge.

Mr. Kalin, state law dictates the amount to be paid to the losing bidders of I-35W. It's Minnesota Statute 161.3426. As a state lawmaker and a member of the house transportation funding committee, you should know this.

If you did know this, you should have told the public instead of writing press releases, newspaper articles and letters to the editor blaming MNDOT for stipends that are out of their control while misleading the public by calling them "excessive bonuses."

You also claim these stipends increased unnecessarily from $300,000 to $500,000 based on some absurd reference to a radio interview made by someone who doesn't even work for MNDOT, live in our state or have any knowledge of Minnesota state law.
