The Sunrise Bassmasters, a B.A.S.S. Federation Nation Club, based out of North Branch, recently sponsored their third annual Youth Fishing Day in collaboration with Lakes Area Youth Service Bureau on Saturday, Sept. 29. Timms Marina hosted the event, which was open to both boys and girls.

Though a few Northern Pike and a couple of large Muskies rose to the bait, bass were the prize catch! Youth in placing in order of weight:

Trevor Peterfeso - 6.27 - 3 fish
Tyler Peterfeso - 4.71 - 2 fish - Big Bass of the day at 2.73
Evan Finley - 4.57 - 3 fish
Adam Peterson - 2.43 - 2 fish
Dakota Willis - 2.02 - 1 fish
Alex Iverson - 1.84 - 1 fish
Ryan Schultz - 1.73 - 1 fish
Nathan Tetrault - 1.22 - 1 fish

It was YSB, however, that netted the biggest catch of the weekend. The Sunrise Bassmasters presented YSB with a check for $1,071 and other benefits from the proceeds of their 19th Annual Sunrise Supporting Youth Bass Tournament which took place on Sunday, Sept. 30 on North South Center Lake in Lindstrom.
