Three first responders from Lakes Region EMS were recognized Wednesday with resolutions of appreciation from the state legislature for their actions the day of the I-35W bridge collapse (story link).

Polzin and Dixon were one of the first ambulance crews on the scene Aug. 1, and Wasmund acted as a response coordinator for much of the evening. For more on the presentation see next week's print edition of the Post Review.
