The North Branch girls cross country team took first place and the boys finished second place at the Chisago Lakes Invitational on Sept. 22.

Seven teams competed at the race.

Ryan Norman ran a strong race, finishing in third place with a time of 17:33.

Mike Heidelberger finished on Norman's heels and ended three seconds behind in 17:36.

Miranda Charley paced the girls in a time of 16:27.

"The girls once again had a nice group of runners without any big gaps. You can't win cross country meets with one or two runners. You really need seven runners who are running very well without big gaps between runners and our girls did that again," head coach Brian Hasleiet said.
