Myrtle M. Swenson of North Branch died Sunday, Sept 9 at the Village of North Branch at the age of 89.

Myrtle was born March 23, 1918 in Kost to John A. and Effie Olson. She graduated from North Branch High School. She was married in 1940 to Oliver Swenson of North Branch. Myrtle worked for many years as a cook in the North Branch Schools and as a custodian for Trinity Lutheran Church. She enjoyed cooking, flowers, collecting dolls and tea cups, church work and her family.

Myrtle was preceded in death by her parents, husband Oliver, son Richard, brothers Loren Olson, Arvid Olson, and sister Daisy. She is survived by her sons Robert (Mary Kay) of Brooklyn Park, Kevan (Sharon) of North Branch, daughter Carol Nelson of Detroit Lakes, daughter-in-law Nancy (Steve) Langenson of Denver. Sister, Lavone Foster of North Branch; brother, Phil Olson of North Branch, 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Wednesday, Sept. 12 at 11 am at the Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Loren Mellum, officiating. Music was furnished by Debra Aulich and Jon Ekstrom. Interment was in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Grandstrand Funeral Home in North Branch.
