Century College president receives national recognition

Century College president Larry Litecky

Century College President Larry Litecky has been awarded the College President's Chancellor's Award from the National Council for Staff, Program and Organizational Development, an organization affiliated with the American Association of Community Colleges that annually recognizes a college president for outstanding leadership.

President of Century since 2000, Litecky has made faculty and staff development a college priority by implementing initiatives such as presidential innovation grants, teaching circles, the Achieving Professional Excellence committee, SEED (Seeking Educational Equity and Diversity) groups, Formation retreats and all-college development days.

Litecky will receive the leadership award at a national conference in Buffalo, N.Y., in October.

Last year, Litecky was named College President of the Year by the Minnesota State College Student Association for his support of student leadership. He also was recognized as the District 5 Pacesetter of the Year by the National Council of Marketing and Public Relations for his college marketing leadership.
