About 50 people gathered at Sacred Heart Catholic church in Rush City on the night of Sept. 11 to remember the attack on our nation and pray for those who died and those who live beyond that tragedy.

During the peace vigil, Fr. Thelekkatt put the onus on each individual to create a peaceful world.

"When there is a conflict within me," he said, "I become an instrument of conflict wherever I go."

When we are not at peace with ourselves, he continued, it shows in our acts and words.

If we are peaceful people, there will be peace in our communities, in society, in our world.
