Alexander E. Clelland, age 86 of Nisswa, formerly of St. Paul was born on May 24, 1921 in St. Paul, Minnesota to William and Harriet (Ryan) Clelland. He was raised in St. Paul and graduated from St. Paul Central High School. After high school he attended the University of Minnesota for two years before he decided to go to work for Northwest Airlines. Al retired from Northwest Airlines after 40 years as a mechanic. He moved to Nisswa where he lived on Roy Lake until his death on September 3 at The Villages of North Branch. He was 86 years of age.

He is survived by his wife, Mary of North Branch; children, Alex (Nancy) Clelland of Dayton, OH; Bill (Elaine) Clelland of Sante Fe, NM; Jeffrey Clelland of New Boston, IL; Mary (James) Boucher of St. Paul; Jolaine Clelland of St. Paul; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Evelyn.

Funeral services were Thursday, Sept. 6 at Grandstrand Funeral Home in North Branch with Rev. Loren Mellum officiating. Visitation was one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment was at Acacia Park Cemetery in Mendota Heights.

Arrangements were under the direction of Grandstrand Funeral Home in North Branch.
