Fund-raiser to help the Christensen family

Posted: 1/2/08

On October 5, 2007, Arlie Christenson of Lindstrom underwent major brain surgery to remove a tumor. As a result, the doctor told Arlie that it was cancerous and that he would have to go through aggressive radiation and chemotherapy.

It is a day-to-day struggle for Arlie, his wife and their three young children. Arlie has been the sole income provider as a self-employed semi-truck driver. His doctor is uncertain as to when he will be able to return to work.  It's a traumatic and trying time for this young family to withstand alone.

A fund-raiser is set for Jan. 11 at 6 p.m. at Maranatha Assembly of God, 24799 Forest Blvd. Forest Lake.

Doors open at 5 p.m. for Silent Auction preview.

The event includes a Spaghetti Dinner with home-made desserts, a Silent Auction -- over 70 lots -- more than 700 pieces along with free stuff and door prizes, and raffles -- enter for your chance to win great prizes.

Entertainment includes Back to the 50s with Steve Marcio, 2007 winner of "Contest of Kings" including Tommy Marcio.

Only cash or check with valid ID accepted.
