RC/PC hockey is .500

By Steve Morris

The Rush City/Pine City Dragons defeated Becker/Big Lake /Milaca 7-4 on Jan. 7.

Taylor Gonyea and Adam Olson each had two goals for the Dragons. With the win, the boys improved to 6-6 on the season.

The Dragons scored 22 seconds in the first period which set the tone for the remainder of the game, head coach Tim Schlichting said.

"It was nice to start off with a bang," he said.

Terry Kraft added a power play goal, and Michael Schlichting and Tyler Will each scored to secure the win.

The boys were able to score by finding goals on breakaways and putting pressure on the Big Lake defense, Schlichting said.

The boys outshot Big Lake 25-17 in the win.

Schlichting said the third line of Brady Schumacher, Dan Sebastian and Nathan Theisen played well to fight off the opposing team's attack.

"We played well," Schlichting said.

They played Princeton Tuesday night. Look in next weeks Post Review for complete game coverage.
