Bruce Splittstoser, age 62, of North Branch, died unexpectedly at his home on December 26, 2011.
Bruce Allen Splittstoser was born June 9, 1949 in Minneapolis to Emanuel and Lucille (Krans) Splittstoser. He was raised in North Branch Township, Isanti County, and attended school in North Branch.
At an early age he became interested in animals and birds. This led him into dairy farming and raising exotic animals and birds. Bruce loved the farm and being in the country.
He was a very caring and compassionate person who enjoyed being with family and friends and would do anything for them.
His hobbies included butchering and meat processing. He loved to cook and sponsor pig roasts.
Bruce also enjoyed boating, fishing and going to garage sales and auctions collecting antiques.
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents and by an infant brother. He is survived by 3 children, Jody, John and Cable; 3 brothers, Dan (Diane) Splittstoser and their 5 children, Mark (Fran) Splittstoser and their 4 children, Lyle Splittstoser and his 2 children; 2 sisters, Joyce (John) Wiberg and their 2 children, Betty (Don) Boll; by nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held on December 29, 2011 at St. John Lutheran Church in Weber with Rev. Kevin Zellers officiating. Ruth Smallidge was the organist. The pallbearers were John Brooks, Eric and Matthew Splittstoser and David Barstow, Nick Wiberg and Nick Wilson. Interment was in St. John Lutheran Cemetery.
Arrangements were entrusted to the care of the Strike Funeral Home – Isanti Chapel.
