Young Sophie Lahti of Pine City told her mother Rita Sparks Lahti that she wanted to do something for the people fighting in wars far away from home this year.

Mom contacted the local chapter of the MN Blue Star Mothers and both Sophie and Rher mother were invited to help with packaging for the troops. The Pine City Chapter of the MN Blue Star Mothers packaged and shipped nearly 50 boxes in time for Christmas.

Without the help of our individual communities this would not be possible, stated Mary Jo Muellner, president of the Pine City Blue Star Moms. Many thanks go out to the following community members, businesses, and organizations that helped with the  donation and collection of items that were shipped along with those that donated cash for shipping the packages.
